Welcome to Bellum! We're thrilled that you've found your way to our site, and we've got a few threads set up for you to look at and read. This thread has many posts on it, each post pertains to a certain area of the rules that we've laid out for the site. Keep an eye on them, because we may change things- though we'll generally alert you to any changes. It's a long read, but it's definitely in your best interest to be familiar with our customs!

General Rules
- Be polite to everyone regardless of any disagreements you may have or may have had in the past. The staff here at Bellum have a low tolerance for member squabbles. If you feel that someone is being rude to you, please pm a staff member and appropriate actions will be taken.
- You must be at least 13 years of age to join our forum. We are rated PG-13, and this is per Proboards TOS and by our own terms. If you're under 13, please come back when you've reached that age and we'll welcome you.
- Cursing is allowed, as it is a part of life. However, please be courteous and don't over do it. If a member says that if offends them, then stop completely.
- We have a posting minimum of 100 words per post, though we urge you to feel free to go above and beyond that.
- Graphics are strongly encouraged and we love to see your work, however no form of art thievery shall be tolerated. Always put credits on your images! We will deal harshly with anyone caught stealing graphics. There are many sources such as Dawnthieves and Creative Commons that have stock images for free use- just credit the maker and be sure they don't mind the piece being used, and we'll all get along!
- Site Activity: If you're going to be away or unable to post, please just post in the absences thread to let us know. High ranking players will be held to different requirements of activity, so that their characters are properly played and so that packs do not fall inactive. This will be found in the "pack rules" section.

In Character/Character Creation Rules:
- You may have up to 10 characters free. After you have 10, should you want another you must purchase a character slot from our store.
- No horns, wings, or other fantasy related items will be allowed on the wolves of Bellum.
- Some odd colorings can be purchased, these are discussed in the character biography form and in the store.
- Bellum is its own continent. The only access to any other lands is through the Northern Mountains, which is a hard travel. Wolves rarely survive that travel alone. Any other access will come from washing ashore on the beaches. There have been no humans on the island of Bellum.
- No god-modding or power-playing is allowed.
- Please stray from mary-sues, and characters of the like. Every character should have flaws, no wolf is perfect.
- If you've purchased and item for a character, that item must be approved before you submit the character for approval.
- Instead of filling out a traditional biography on a thread, there are fields on the "Biography" tab of your characters profile, and those fields should be filled out respectively, then you'll submit a quick biography acceptance thread, and you'll be approved. Staff will check your profile's biography tab to deem if you are ready for approval.
- Character histories are not required, but encouraged. Appearances should be at least 80 words, and Personalities should be 100.

Fighting Basics
While our fighting system will have its own threads, here are some of the basic parameters that Bellum abides by.
- Fighting can be an unavoidable part of life. If your character is challenged on any level, they must respond. Failure to do so results in an automatic forfeit of the fight.
- If you feel that any challenge is unfair or an attempt at bullying, please contact staff and the matter will be reviewed and dealt with.
- There will be a rubric grading system that will be automatically implemented for judging on tier II & tier III fights. However, with tier I fights, there will be an honor system that will be the default unless there is a dispute between members then staff will judge the fight.
- All attacks, defenses, and other parts of the fight must be realistic in the realm of what a wolf is capable of.
- Companions may not assist in fights.
